Troop 634 has a special program to guide younger scouts
through their first year. The program is called

First Class Emphasis.

The program is led by an Assistant Scoutmaster, and staffed by experienced scouts who have already attained the First Class rank or above. The scouts working the program are called Troop Guides. Troop Guides will teach and sign off requirements as well as help plan trips, menus, or assist on the FCE patrol outings. This allows for the rapid advancement of inexperienced scouts.  The Troop  also plans a special outing just for the new scount where they will learn knife and fire safety and receive their Totin' Chits and Fireman Chits.
